History:

In the 1600s, Japanese people in Kyoto began brewing coffee using a drop-by-drop method called Kyoto-style coffee. This method is considered highly artistic and can take up to 24 hours to produce a single batch. It's thought that Japanese people were inspired by Dutch sailors who brought cold brew concentrates to Japan. The Dutch may have originated the practice of steeping coffee grounds in cold water for extended periods of time. They may have done this as a way to transport coffee that could be heated and consumed later. Cold brew coffee became popular in the United States in the 1930s, when Cubans reimagined the cold brew process. The Toddy Brewing System was developed in the United States in the 1960s, inspired by Peruvian cold brew coffee makers. Cold brew coffee became available in small coffee shops in the 1990s and in chain stores in the 2000s. This coffee pays homage to its Japan and Dutch roots while offering a modern update to technology, sustainability, and quality
